Hot Run

It was a hot run on Sat.  We had a nice turnout, and we did our loop south along the golf course in Griffiths Park, and by the time we got back to the parking lot, we had gone a bit over 4 miles, did it in less than an hour, and it had climbed to 90 degrees.

It was tough, and we had a few extended walks, but boy, felt good to get out there and work it a bit.

Now next week is the Labor Day weekend, and it will also be the last weekend before the Roadrunners start their training sessions.  I'm not sure how many folks are interested and will be around, but if enough folks are around, I'll do one more warmup training run.

If we do, probably will start earlier, just to avoid some of the potential heat, and let folks enjoy their weekend.  I will send out another reminder mid week.  So figure on coming out by 6:45am and running by 7am. at the LA Zoo.

have a great week,

Walt

  2. thanks, Coach, for the run on saturday. turns out i have a stomach virus and the heat didn't help. will try to make it to next run depending on how i feel. my granddaughter enjoyed the run far more than i did - with 3 pony rides after, so it was well worth the outing. have a nice week, all. sandra
